So far the Mojos gigs have been getting bigger each week. The support from the other bands and the fans have been amazing.

So heres a rundown of the bands that have graced our stage so far:

First week was Natasha and The Colors

Second week was Leesides

Third week was The Vans and Celvins Cross

More good news is the band has been liaising with RTR about some airplay - so fingers crossed...

next time hearts have a myspace where you can see there gigs and listen to songs from. Have a browse!

next time hearts have a residency at Mojos on Wednesdays for all of May! This is a massive opportunity for them to expand their reputation and just have some really fun nights.

The first gig (may 3rd) they'll be rockin hard with awesome local band the colors and a talanted soloist called Tash. If there is a door charge, it will be as minimal as it can be, so please don't be discouraged.

For other news, the channel 31 gig was really fun and thanks to everyone who came and had a meal and watched them make arses of themselves.
Highlights of the night include:
  • Shaun stuffing his face with a piece of chicken with half a potato and a fistfull of lettuce (at once)
  • J Cortez demostrating his extensive knowledge of Karate throughout the interview
  • Michael hand feeding the beautiful young hostess of the show turkish bread.. twice
  • Shaun being urged to slow down his drinking after only an hour upon arrival
  • J swooning the hostess with roses
  • The hostesess boyfriend not being swooned by the roses J offered
  • Michael not being content to go home after the gig, going down to the Leederville and dancing the night away with Shaun's girlfriend Gem
  • The fans trying to do a runner on the bar tab.. nice work guys, you almost made it.
I think its safe to say they made an impression on the night... like a dirty fingerprint.

The Anzac Day gig at Mojos also kicked arse. The band was told late that they'd be playing at 5pm, not at 8pm like they originally thought, so were unsure whether friends would come, but they came! And it couldn't have turned out better. So thank you so much to those friends who at short notice came down and supported, you guys are awesome.

The gig at Mojos went really well. A new rule has been devised as a consequence of the nights happenings : No more having a burger straight before performing. Enough said on that subject.

About 8pm on Friday the 24th of April is the gig at Reflections in South Perth. For something different, anybody who feels like going out to a restaurant for dinner should come down while the band is being interviewed, then enjoy a tasty beverage while the band is plays a few acoustic numbers outside.
Who knows, you might even be a cameo.

An email list is being created so whenever the band has a gig, you can get an email to let you know about it, so if you aren't on the list yet, send an email to nexttimehearts@gmail.com.

Some new pictures should be up soon of the Mojo's gig in our gallery.
Theres also a new song for download, this was written and recorded by the new bass player, J Cortez in a recording studio unknown to me. The song is called Killing Me. I think it's great.

I think thats it...

wait

nope, thats it.

Next time hearts have a gig on Tuesday at Mojos at about 8:30ish to welcome their new bass player, Johnno. In support of the occasion all of the songs played for the 40 minute set will be Johnno's.

Also they have been given an opportunity to appear on a show on Channel 31 called Funk Up The Menu which appears on Wednesday nights at 8pm. They will be interviewed and filmed in two weeks so it should appear on there sometime after that.

Mojos Gig summary from Seshna - 15 minutes: we rocked hard, and played bad. It was great fun.

The EP has been released for download, which can be found in the tunes section. Feel free all to have a listen.

Monday night - 13th March, we have our first live jam at Mojo's bar at about 11pm. Should be really fun, its an open mic night thing, so there will be a lot of great acts.

We had lots of fun at our first jam after the holidays. It was a very eventful night consisting of two fellas from the Sleepy Jackson, a chair being thrown at a concrete boat, Johnno(ex-SJ) being chased by a car driven by Mal(SJ), and Johnno busting his hip by jumping onto a fridge.

With any luck, this night was just a glimmer of whats yet to come.
